The 6th field day of the DCALDP took place on 21th and 22th of October 2020 in Huanghai Farm. There are about 200 visitors attended the event from counterpart Chinese officials, other farms, institutions and universities from the region and from Beijing, took part in the event and learned about the important aspects of sustainable agriculture and soil cultivation.The Field Day was broadcasted online as well, with more than 80,000 visitors.
The focus of Field Day was on demonstration and presentation to visitors on sustainable agricultural techniques. Highlighting the advantages of modern machinery and products provided by the project’s business partners. This approach was to show in practice how the different machines and tractors can be used in sustainable soil cultivation, high yields and less water pollution. It was well received for the business partners and their dealers and clients.
The opening ceremony was held in the afternoon of 21st October, so that the overseas visitors could also participate. On the ceremony, representatives from BMEL, MARA and SKIAD greeted all the participants on-site and online and sent their congratulation as well as expectations to DCALDP. A representative from BASF has made a short speech on behalf of all business partners of DCALDP. The Chinese director of DCALDP Mr. He Zairui published the progress achieved in the 2nd project phase. Finishing the opening ceremony, the publication of the “Green Book” was presented by our Teamleader, Alejandro Figueroa.
After “warming up” by the opening ceremony on the first day, we embraced the highlights of this “Field Day” on the second day. Mr. Thomas Giese, Counsellor for Food and Agriculture at the German Embassy in Beijing opened the day on the field.
The DCALDP-Team set up 11 stations on the field, with thematic themes varied from soil to technology, crop rotation to plant protection and field consolidation.
The field day was a great success for the organizers, business partners and supporters of the DCALDP-project. Everyone is looking forward to next field day in 2021.
